Did you ever wonder about how Our Banner gets put together? Where to send prayer requests? Who handles calendar items? Well, wonder no more.

The Arlington Cursillo Communications Committee is a vibrant, dynamic group of folks dedicated to getting you the information you need to stay on top of the many activities available to enrich your Fourth Day. In alphabetical order by last name, we are:

• Tony De Cristofaro: Tony is responsible for the Web site’s monthly reflection. Tony also is the owner of a Catholic blog, www.yourdailytripod.blogspot.com, which works out very nicely since one of the blog contributors, Father Joe McCloskey, is the author of the weekly reflection. Tony’s e-mail address is dxfaro@cox.net.
• Harry Hardin: Harry’s your man for prayer requests, and shares other Web posting duties with Pete Roth. Here’s something you should know about Harry: he adds every prayer request you submit to his personal prayer list! And Harry is one serious prayer warrior. You can reach him at Harry.Hardin@verizon.net.
• Henri Johnson: Henri is the calmest person on the Communications Committee, which is a good thing because she is responsible for maintaining the Web site calendar and gets a lot of frantic e-mails. Henri updates the calendar on Sunday nights, so please get information to her by Saturday evenings. She’d like your parish Ultreyas in addition to the Weekend, School of Leaders, and Fourth Day items provided by those committees. When you send items, please include the title of the event; location, including street address and city; time; and contact information. And speaking of contact information, you can reach her at henri3658@yahoo.com. Note: It’s best to send Henri complete information about any gathering rather than say “to be determined.”
• Lyn McGee: Lyn is responsible for the Our Banner you receive in your e-mail or mail box. (Note: You also can view Our Banner at www.arlingtoncursillo.org under Newsletter on the left bar.) She also is responsible for keeping our database up to date, which is very important for both Our Banner and for the Team Selection Committee when they go to make calls for upcoming Weekend teams. If you’re not getting Our Banner via e-mail and would like to, contact Lyn. If you move, change your e-mail address, or change your phone number, let Lyn know. We want you to know what’s going on in our community! Lyn’s e-mail address is LynPlus2@aol.com.
• Pete Roth: Pete’s the one who makes our Web site run on a day-to-day basis. He comes up with a lot of ideas for ways we can serve you better. If you’re a rector or rectora, send team lineups (including parish and e-mail address) to Pete and Harry. And don’t forget the team pictures! Pete’s at pete.roth@verizon.net.

So with all these terrific people, what do I do? Send events to the Arlington Herald. Update the calendar at our Facebook page (within Facebook search, type in “Catholic Cursillo of the Arlington (VA) Diocese). Answer requests we get for international palanca. Post our Weekends at the national Cursillo site (www.cursillo.org). Attend the Secretariat meetings. You can reach me with any questions about those activities at editorforyou@earthlink.net .

While we have six members on this committee, six is not enough. We’d love to add someone with serious Web design skills to work with Harry and Pete. We’d also love to add someone who could send palanca from Arlington Cursillo to the Weekends listed on the national Cursillo Web site. The latter poisition might be ideal for a stay-at-home parent or other person who has snatches of time available during the week to personalize our palanca template for those Weekends. Remember how amazed you were by all the people all over the world praying for you on your Weekend? This is a way to help others experience that same emotion.

Check out our website www.arlingtoncursillo.org  and send us your comments, suggestions and input.

Tony, Harry, Lyn, Henri, Pete, and I all look forward to hearing from you—and seeing you at an upcoming event!
