Mananita: Participants should gather at 6:45
a.m. in the parking lot at Camp Happyland. Emelda will meet you at the parking
lot and lead you to the Deck which is off the Talk Room. The Candidates and team
will come out of the Talk Room and on to the deck. The musicians and community
will stand and sing on the blacktop area adjacent to the deck which is five
stair steps above the blacktop area. Please be there as close to 7:00 a.m. as
possible.
Closing: The closing time is 4:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi School
Lunch Room. Please be seated by
4:15p.m. Laura Lyon, Debbie Doyle and Ann Frontera-Rial will arrive at St.
Francis of Assisi at approximately 4:00 p.m. The rest of the team and the
candidates should arrive at approx. 4:30 p.m. Please bring heavy hors d’oeuvres
or drinks to share and drop off at the back of the lunch room prior to the
ceremony. Directions:

"Come to the
Mananita and spend the day." We have a great day organized for all of the NoVa people who come to our
Mananita. We have arranged to have our local "Clearwater Grill" open one
hour early on Sunday, August 9. They will open at 8:00 a.m. for anyone
who goes to the Mananita. They serve a terrific brunch buffet for 8.95.
It will seem like a private breakfast party. And they are close to Camp
Happyland where the Mananita will be. Clearwater Grill is on Rt. 3 W. We
will give you directions at the Mananita.
After the brunch, everyone can go into downtown Fredericksburg to visit
historic homes, (Kenmore, the home of Betty Washington, George's little
sister. George really did sleep there. ) You may tour the home of Mary
Washington, Ye Olde Apothecary Shoppe, ride the trolley around to the
historic Battle of Fredericksburg places, have ice cream at
Carl's....eat lunch at one of the small specialty restaurants, go
antiquing, or see our small one-of-a-kind shoppes. There is also a
Wegman's if you wish to pick up heavy hors d’oeuvres or drinks to share
at the closing at St. Francis of Assisi just up Rt. 95 from
Fredericksburg. St. Francis is next door to the main entrance to
Quantico. Just go to the top of Fuller Road. St. Francis is on the top.
The closing will be at 4:30 p.m. - no Mass - and in the School Lunch
Room to the right of the parking lot.
So, take a day off for adventure...come for our Mananita, stay for the
closing. Y'all support your "Southern" Cursillistas.
